Born in Pfäffikon (ZH) on the 27th of July 1961, at the age of 18 he enrolled at the Technical High School of Trevano (TI), in the architecture section. During his studies, he carried out an internship at the firmof architect Mario Botta in Lugano for two years. In 1984, he obtained the STS Architect diploma with professor architect Giancarlo Durisch, with whom he will collaborate in the following months at his firm.
A year later, he worked as an architect in the firm of architect Mario Botta, during which he had the opportunity to collaborate on different projects such as Banca del Gottardo in Lugano and the library in Villeurbanne, France.
Between 1998 and 1999 he held a series of conferences at the ETH Zurich, Berne, Rolle and at the FAECF Congress in Zurich on the topic of solar energy in architecture.
Member of the OTIA - Ticino Order of Engineers and Architects since 1989, when he began his professional career with the opening of his firm in Lugano.
Member of REG A, Register A of Swiss architects since 2000 and member of SIA in 2001.
During his career, he won the Opera Prima Award for Terraced Houses in the municipality of Viganello, the Facciavista Masonry Award for the Single Family House in Ruvigliana and the Solar Prize CH and EU for the renovation of the FEAT building in Lugano.
In 2003, he obtained a Master's Degree with honors in Architecture from the University of Mediterranean Studies of Reggio Calabria.
He is a member of the Association of architects, planners and landscape designers in Italy.
From 2006 to 2009 he moved to Spain, Barcelona, where he had the opportunity to acquire working experience at different architectural firms such as Pedro Mallol Arquitectes, BAG Arquitectes and Patrick Genard & Associados.
Since 2016 he has been a member of OTIA, the Ticino Order of Engineers and Architects.
Since 2010, he began his collaboration with Claudio Lo Riso, Architect in Lugano where he was the coordinator and head of the office, also in charge of the designing and management of the construction site.
Paolo Corbella Architect (PCA, 1980) si laurea (2005) e abilita alla professione (2006) presso il Politecnico di Milano. In contemporanea lavora al progetto Milanofiori Assago (Erick Van Egeraat) e l’anno successivo intraprende l’esperienza di Cultore della materia al Corso universitario di “Progettazione Esecutiva dell’Architettura”. Il suo percorso prosegue con Garilab/DC10, con ZERO (Retail) e ricevendo numerosi incarichi da clienti privati: sono gli anni (2007-2014) in cui implementa le proprie competenze di Project Management e BIM con i relativi tools. Nel 2014 inizia la collaborazione con il prestigioso studio Citterio-Viel & Partners, lavorando su importanti progetti e ricevendo incarichi manageriali; da luglio 2018 a febbraio 2021 ha ricoperto il ruolo di Design Process Director di A++ Group (9 studi, 100+
collaboratori); nell'aprile 2021 ha svolto la sua prima lezione con il ruolo di relatore in SUPSI e dal maggio dello stesso anno collabora con lo Studio Claudio Lo Riso. Abilitato OTIA in Svizzera e OAV in Italia, nel corso della sua carriera PCA ha ottenuto molte certificazioni professionali ed è diventato membro di rilevanti associazioni nazionali e internazionali.
Graduated in Architecture at the Department of Environment and Construction of Lugano.
From 2012 to 2014 he worked as a site surveyor at the Global Costruzion srl company.
From 2018 he began his collaboration with the Claudio Lo Riso Architetto of Lugano with the role of intern and later architect.
